Product description

Skid-Mounted CIP Units for Tanks, Pipes and Fillers

Most calls about tank washing start the same way: someone is spending two hours per vessel with a hose and a brush, or the wash water is going down the drain at 85°C because nobody trusts the return line. A CIP skid replaces that routine with a repeatable cycle you can document.

Our skids are built around a simple loop. Caustic, acid and rinse water come out of separate tanks, pass through a supply pump and a plate or coil heater, travel through the circuit and return through a dedicated return pump. Conductivity and temperature sensors decide when the caustic is spent and when the rinse is clean enough to end. Air blow at the end of the cycle pushes the last of the product out before the wash starts.

Sizing the Tanks and the Pump

Tank volume follows the largest circuit, not the largest vessel. The supplied wash liquid has to fill the pipework, the spray balls and the vessel sump with a 10–15% margin. A 10 m³ fermenter on a short run may need less liquid than 40 m of 3-inch main going to a filler.

Flow matters as much as volume. We target 1.5 m/s in the mains to keep the caustic in turbulent contact with the wall, and the return pump is sized above the supply pump so the sump never floods. Spray device type and pressure drop decide the rest.

Heating, Controls and Custom Work

Electric immersion heaters suit smaller skids and plants without steam. Steam coils or plate heat exchangers make more sense once you pass a few hundred liters per cycle. For control, some customers take a manual panel; others want a PLC with recipe storage so the evening shift runs the same cycle as the day shift.

Where These Systems Run

Dairy plants use them on raw milk silos and pasteurizer circuits. Breweries cycle fermenters and bright beer tanks, often with a separate loop to the fill line. Beverage, sauce and liquid food producers clean mixing kettles and transfer piping. Cosmetics and pharmaceutical plants typically specify 316L and a higher level of documentation.

Questions We Get Before Ordering

Can one skid serve both tanks and a filler? Yes, with a loop selector or a changeover panel. Confirm the line volume so the pump is not undersized on the longest run.

Do we need acid and caustic? Milk and beer lines usually benefit from both. Some beverage plants run caustic and sanitizer only. It depends on the soil.

How much floor space? A two-tank 500 L skid generally fits 2.5 × 1.5 m. Add room for drum storage and access to the pump seals.

Can it be added to an existing plant? Most of our units are retrofits. We need a piping diagram and tank list to lay out the connections.
