Portable CIP for breweries and pilot plants
A 50 L or 100 L portable CIP unit is typically bought by a brewery, dairy, or pilot plant that has outgrown bucket cleaning but does not want a fixed skid locked to one tank. We build these on a cart from 304 or 316L stainless, plumbed so one operator can wheel it between fermenters, bright tanks, filling lines, or mixing vessels.
The job is straightforward: circulate caustic, acid, and rinse water at controlled temperature and flow through a spray ball or line circuit and return it through the pump. Contact time, temperature, and flow velocity do the cleaning work — pressure alone does not. A wash usually runs 15–30 minutes at 60–80 °C with 1.5–2.5% caustic, followed by an intermediate rinse, an acid step where beerstone or milkstone is a problem, and a final rinse.
Sizing the tank and the pump
Match volume to wetted surface, not to vessel volume. A 100 L unit generally covers one or two vessels up to about 20–30 hL; beyond that we usually quote 200 L or a two-tank arrangement so rinse water and caustic stay apart. Single-tank units cost less and are simpler to run, but someone has to drain and refill between steps. Two- and three-tank versions (caustic, acid, hot rinse) shorten cycle time and cut water use on repeated runs.
Pump selection catches more buyers off guard than anything else. Spray ball cleaning needs flow — roughly 1.5–2 bar at the ball and enough volume to wet the full circumference. A return pump helps when the circuit runs uphill or through a plate cooler.

Where these units run
Breweries and distilleries use them on fermenters, bright tanks, and transfer lines. Dairy and beverage plants clean pasteurizers, mixers, and filler heads. Sauce and liquid food producers deal with protein and starch soils that need a warmer caustic step. Cosmetics and pharmaceutical operators often specify 316L and documented cleaning records.
Questions we hear often
Can one unit serve several tanks? Yes, with quick-couplers or a valve manifold, as long as piping runs stay short and drains slope back to the pump.
Do I need acid cleaning? Only if your water is hard or you see mineral scale. Many breweries run caustic and rinse most days and acid weekly.
What about detergent heating time? Budget 20–30 minutes for electric heating from cold; a steam coil cuts that considerably.

We ordered a complete peanut butter processing line, and overall we’ve been very happy with it. The equipment arrived well packed and everything was installed and tested without major issues. The line runs smoothly, and the mixing and processing have been consistent. Our peanut butter comes out with a good texture, and the equipment is not difficult for our operators to use and clean. The support from the supplier was also helpful during setup. So far, it has been a good investment for our production.
