Product description

Built for sauce lines that can\’t afford to slow down

Chili sauce exposes a mixer\’s weaknesses fast. Pulp settles, gums clump, and batch-to-batch consistency depends on how long an operator stands over the tank. The Ace Mixer high shear in-line unit mounts directly in the piping or on a tank recirculation loop, so material is sheared the moment it passes the rotor-stator head. No extra vessel, no transfer step, no waiting on a batch mixer to finish.

What the rotor-stator head does in practice

The rotor turns at high tip speed inside a close-tolerance work chamber. Shear gap is set when we build the unit, typically between 0.3 mm and 1.5 mm depending on solids load and how much temperature rise your product tolerates. For chili sauce, tomato-based sauces, and fruit slurries, processors usually see faster hydration of starch and hydrocolloids, fewer visible agglomerates, and tighter viscosity from the first drum to the last. Liquid-liquid emulsification follows the same path — oil phase is injected upstream and dispersed as the product circulates.

In-line configuration beats a batch tank in three situations we see repeatedly: product is too viscous to turn over in a large vessel, the recipe is shear-sensitive and needs short residence time, or the line already runs continuously and a tank would break the flow. For a thick sauce with heavy solids, a batch-style agitator may still be the better answer, and we will say so.

Materials, sealing, and customization

Wetted parts are 316L stainless with a standard 0.8 µm finish on product contact surfaces; higher polish is available for aseptic and cosmetic work. Single mechanical seals are fine for most food service. Abrasive or low-lubricity products get a double seal with a flush plan. Connections are tri-clamp, DIN, or SMS, and we can quote flange or threaded ends for existing plant piping. Motors run 2.2 kW to 30 kW, with VFD options so operators can tune tip speed instead of throttling a valve. Food service trolley and cart-mount configurations are available for pilot kitchens and restaurant-scale production where the pump needs to move between stations.

Where this unit goes to work

  • Food and beverage: chili and hot sauces, mayonnaise, dressings, syrups, liquid seasonings, dairy blends, beverage concentrates, starch and gum dispersion
  • Personal care: creams, lotions, shampoos, conditioners, liquid detergents, oil-in-water emulsions
  • Pharma: liquid formulations and excipient dispersion where the equipment and cleaning regime suit the process
  • Chemical: coatings, adhesives, waterborne formulations, and emulsions compatible with the selected metallurgy and seals

Not every formulation runs in the same pump configuration. High-solids pastes, solvent-borne products, and abrasive slurries each push the design in a different direction.

Questions buyers ask before specifying

How do I size the motor? Start with flow rate, viscosity at process temperature, and discharge pressure. A unit sized on water flow will be undersized on a 4,000 cP sauce.

Will it handle solids without clogging? It depends on particle size and pumpable viscosity. Tell us the largest particle and target throughput and we will recommend a rotor-stator geometry.

Can it be cleaned in place? Yes, with the right seal and connection choice. We can supply a CIP-compatible housing.

How long does changeover take? The mixing head opens without removing the pump from the line, which keeps maintenance time to minutes rather than a shift.

Send us your batch size, product viscosity and solids content, required motor power, and local electrical specification. Our engineering team will come back with a specific configuration, current price, and lead time — not a generic datasheet.

Customer Review

We ordered a complete peanut butter processing line, and overall we’ve been very happy with it. The equipment arrived well packed and everything was installed and tested without major issues. The line runs smoothly, and the mixing and processing have been consistent. Our peanut butter comes out with a good texture, and the equipment is not difficult for our operators to use and clean. The support from the supplier was also helpful during setup. So far, it has been a good investment for our production.
