Inline high shear for ice cream mix and dairy premix
Ice cream mix looks simple on a formula sheet: dairy solids, sugar, stabilizers, emulsifiers, water. Past a few hundred liters per batch, the mixing step starts deciding your texture. Stabilizer blends hydrate slowly and clump when they hit the surface, and agglomerates that survive into the freezer show up later as a chalky mouthfeel or inconsistent overrun. This mobile single-stage unit works on the point where powder meets liquid.
Product is pulled through a high-speed rotor-stator head. Shear happens in the gap on a single pass, and the material leaves as a finer, more uniform dispersion than a tank agitator produces in the same residence time. The skid sits on casters, so it moves between tanks, drops into a circulation loop, or comes off the line for washdown.
What the machine actually gives you
- Inline mounting — the pump becomes part of the pipe or loop, so mixing happens in flow instead of tying up a tank for another 30 minutes.
- Rotor-stator head — liquid-liquid emulsification and droplet size reduction in one pass; repeat passes through a loop tighten the distribution further.
- Powder wetting — stabilizers, gums, and emulsifiers are drawn into moving liquid rather than dumped onto a still surface, which is where most lumps begin.
- Batch-to-batch consistency — less manual whisking and fewer operator variables between runs.
- Stainless contact parts and washdown-ready frame — built for dairy sanitation routines.
- Optional VFD — trim rotor speed to the recipe instead of running everything wide open.
- Configurable motor, seals, and connections — sanitary fittings, higher-horsepower motors, and elastomer choices matched to your CIP chemicals.
Where these pumps run
Food and beverage plants use them for sauces, dressings, mayonnaise, syrups, liquid flavorings, dairy blends, beverage concentrates, and starch or gum dispersion. Cosmetics and personal care lines handle creams, lotions, shampoos, conditioners, and liquid detergents. Pharmaceutical processors apply them to liquid formulations and excipient dispersion where the equipment and process suit. Chemical producers run coatings, adhesives, waterborne formulations, and emulsions compatible with the wetted materials. No single configuration covers every recipe — viscosity, solids loading, and abrasiveness all push the selection in different directions.
Questions we get before a quote
Will one pass be enough? Sometimes. For many ice cream mixes, a loop through the pump during pasteurization is sufficient. Heavy gum loads or high-solids formulations often need two or three passes, which is why we ask about your current process before recommending a head.
Can it replace our batch tank agitator? It can shorten the batch cycle and take over dispersion duty, but it complements rather than replaces bulk agitation in most plants.
What about cleaning? Flush and CIP with the rest of the line. Seal design and elastomer choice matter here, especially if your sanitizer is aggressive.
Send us your batch size, target flow rate, product viscosity and solids, required motor power, and local voltage and frequency. Our engineering team will size the rotor-stator head, connections, and seal package and come back with a quote.
Ace Mixer builds a mobile single-stage inline emulsifier pump for ice cream mix and dairy premix lines. A high-speed rotor-stator head wets out stabilizers, disperses emulsifiers, and breaks down agglomerates in circulation or continuous processing. Stainless construction, casters, optional VFD, and configurable seals, motors, and connections.

Customer Review
We ordered a complete peanut butter processing line, and overall we’ve been very happy with it. The equipment arrived well packed and everything was installed and tested without major issues. The line runs smoothly, and the mixing and processing have been consistent. Our peanut butter comes out with a good texture, and the equipment is not difficult for our operators to use and clean. The support from the supplier was also helpful during setup. So far, it has been a good investment for our production.
