Sanitary mixing for juice production
Our 100, 200, 300, 500, and 1,000 L jacketed tanks are configured for food and beverage processes that require controlled mixing and, where specified, heating or cooling. They can support juice blending, syrup preparation, and similar liquid batches. The working volume, batch recipe, target temperature, and cleaning method should be confirmed before we size the vessel and select its components.
Construction and configuration
Product-contact surfaces are typically specified in food-grade stainless steel, with the grade selected to suit the recipe, cleaning chemicals, and chloride exposure. Stainless steel 304 may suit many general food applications; 316L may be appropriate where greater corrosion resistance is required. Final material selection should reflect actual process conditions. Welds, internal finish, drainability, and avoidance of product-holding crevices matter as much as the alloy designation. Surface finish and polishing requirements should be agreed before fabrication, especially where hygienic cleaning or inspection is demanding.
A single jacket can provide a heat-transfer space around the vessel; a double-jacket arrangement may be specified where the required thermal coverage or process design calls for it. Heating or cooling media, supply temperature, flow, and available utility capacity affect heat-up and cool-down performance. Temperature control can be configured to match the process, but the sensor location and control strategy should be reviewed against batch size and mixing conditions. Jacket design and pressure requirements must be confirmed for the intended utility.
Agitator type and impeller geometry depend on viscosity, solids, batch volume, and the need for gentle blending or faster circulation. Motor and reducer sizing likewise depend on the product and operating duty; no single drive configuration suits every juice or syrup. Seal selection should account for sanitation, operating temperature, and cleaning procedure. Access, discharge arrangement, and cleaning method should be settled early to avoid difficult-to-clean connections.

Frequently asked questions
Can the tank heat and cool? The jacket arrangement can be designed for the specified service. Confirm heating and cooling media and utilities.
How do we choose capacity? Provide batch size, working fill range, and headspace needs; nominal capacity alone does not define usable volume.
What should a quote request include? Send the recipe or viscosity range, ingredients and solids, temperature profile, cleaning method, required throughput, site utilities, and preferred connections. These details let our engineering team recommend a buildable configuration rather than assume a standard duty.
