Edible Oil Mixing and Dispersion System
This system combines one disperser with two mixing tanks for production involving olive, vegetable, or palm oil. A two-tank arrangement can support batch preparation in one vessel while another batch is being processed or discharged, subject to the plant’s transfer and operating sequence. The disperser is selected around the actual job: incorporating ingredients, breaking down agglomerates, or improving dispersion. It should not be treated as a substitute for a dedicated emulsifier when a stable emulsion is required.
Palm oil handling often drives the thermal design because it may need heating to remain pumpable. Heating method, jacket area, insulation, and temperature control depend on the required operating temperature, batch size, and available plant utilities. Olive and other vegetable oils may require gentler temperature limits to protect product characteristics. We confirm the heat-up target and allowable product temperature before sizing the heating and control package.
Construction and Drive Selection
Product-contact parts are commonly specified in stainless steel, with grade selected against the oil, additives, cleaning chemicals, and sanitation requirements. The final specification should identify the wetted grade rather than assume every frame or support is the same material. Welds in product-contact areas need a finish appropriate to cleaning and product exposure; polishing level and surface treatment are agreed against the customer’s hygiene standard. Seal material and shaft arrangement are checked for temperature, product compatibility, and cleaning method.
Motor and gearbox sizing depend on viscosity at operating temperature, batch volume, impeller diameter, and the required mixing time. Disperser speed and blade geometry are chosen for the desired shear without creating unnecessary air entrainment or heating. Anchor, paddle, or other tank agitators may be considered where bulk turnover or wall sweeping matters. Access for seal inspection, blade replacement, and tank cleaning should be resolved in the layout stage.

Applications and Purchasing Questions
Typical applications include blending flavor or antioxidant additions into edible oil, preparing oil-based ingredient batches, and conditioning palm oil before transfer. Is the system suitable for continuous production? The two tanks can support staggered batches, but actual throughput depends on mixing time, heating, filling, and discharge. What should a quotation request include? Send batch volume, target hourly output, product viscosity and temperature, ingredient sequence, cleaning procedure, site power and heating utilities, and layout constraints. These details let our engineers recommend a workable vessel, drive, and discharge arrangement without guessing at production requirements.
