Jacketed mixing for soap and detergent batches
Liquid hand soap and detergent production often involves incorporating surfactants, thickeners, fragrances, and other ingredients without trapping excessive air or leaving unmixed material at the vessel wall. We configure this double-jacket tank around the batch size, product viscosity, and addition sequence. A high-shear rotor-stator can help disperse compatible ingredients; it does not replace a sweep or anchor agitator when viscous product needs continuous wall movement.
The jacket can be designed for a specified heating or cooling utility. Utility type, operating pressure, target temperature, and heat-up or cool-down time determine jacket design and control requirements. Temperature instrumentation and a control panel can be specified to suit the process. We confirm the required duty before recommending a configuration rather than assuming the jacket will provide a particular temperature range.
Materials and mechanical design
316L stainless steel is commonly selected for product-contact surfaces where formulation chemistry or cleaning conditions call for its corrosion resistance. Final material selection should account for chloride content, pH, temperature, and cleaning chemicals. Welds in wetted areas require suitable finishing; the specified internal surface finish and any passivation requirements should be agreed before fabrication. External surfaces and non-product-contact components can be specified separately.
Drive power, reducer, shaft, and impeller depend on working volume, viscosity, density, and the desired shear. Seal selection also depends on product properties, cleaning method, and operating conditions. For reliable discharge and cleanability, provide details about outlet location, bottom geometry, access, and whether the vessel must drain with little residual product. An anchor or scraper arrangement may be considered for higher-viscosity batches, subject to the vessel and process design.
