Vertical Stainless Steel Reactor Tank for Chemical Liquid Processing
This vertical reactor vessel is built for liquid processing operations where material compatibility and thermal control are non-negotiable. We fabricate the tank shell from 304 or 316L stainless steel, with inner wall thickness starting at 4mm and adjustable based on working pressure and vessel diameter. The selection of grade depends on the chemicals you process — 316L offers better chloride resistance, while 304 suits general aqueous and solvent applications.
The vessel is configured with a jacket for heating and cooling, sized to match your required heat transfer rate. For processes requiring precise temperature control, we can add baffles or an external circulation loop. The stirrer system is matched to your mixing duty: anchor agitators handle viscous products, turbine impellers provide high shear for emulsification, and paddle types suit gentle blending. All wetted parts are polished to Ra ≤ 0.8 µm, with optional electropolishing to Ra ≤ 0.4 µm where hygiene or product purity demands it.
Standard working pressure is atmospheric to 0.6 MPa, but we can design up to 2.5 MPa with corresponding wall thickness and head configuration. The mechanical seal is selected based on operating pressure and solvent type — single mechanical seals cover most duties, while double seals with barrier fluid are available for toxic or volatile media. Top-mounted motor and reducer keep the footprint compact, and the vertical orientation simplifies bottom discharge.
Typical installations include resin blending, polymer solution preparation, surfactant mixing, and intermediate chemical storage with agitation. We also see these vessels used in pharmaceutical intermediate synthesis where cleanability and documentation of surface finish matter.
