Product description

Multi-Layer Insulated Stainless Steel Storage Tank for Industrial Liquids

We manufacture this multi-layer insulated stainless steel tank for storing water, chemicals, oils, and adhesives. The design focuses on thermal retention and structural reliability. You get a vessel that handles varying fluid densities and temperatures without compromising integrity.

Materials and Construction

We use SUS304 or SUS316L depending on your fluid\’s corrosiveness and cleaning requirements. SUS304 works for water, oil, and most neutral chemicals. SUS316L is selected when chlorides or acidic compounds are present. All welds are full penetration, ground smooth on the interior, and passivated to restore the passive oxide layer. The multi-layer insulation uses closed-cell polyurethane or rock wool between the inner and outer shells, minimizing heat loss and preventing surface condensation.

The outer jacket is brushed 304 stainless steel. Internal surface finish can be 2B, 180-grit, or 400-grit mirror polish – the latter is typical for food-grade or cleanroom applications. Gaskets are EPDM or PTFE, chosen based on chemical compatibility and temperature range.

Typical Applications

  • Water storage in food processing plants where temperature maintenance is critical.
  • Chemical intermediate holding with moderate corrosion risk (use SUS316L).
  • Oil and lubricant storage in manufacturing lines – insulated design prevents viscosity changes.
  • Adhesive or glue storage where temperature stability prevents curing or separation.

FAQ – Practical Buyer Questions

How do I choose between SUS304 and SUS316L?
Start with the stored liquid. If it contains chlorides (e.g., bleach, brine, some cleaning solutions) or acidic components (acetic acid, citric acid), choose SUS316L. For water, oil, glue, or non-chlorinated chemicals, SUS304 is sufficient and more economical.

What insulation thickness do I need?
Depends on your required holding temperature and ambient conditions. For hot water (80–90°C) in a cold environment, 80 mm polyurethane minimum. For moderate temperature differentials (40–60°C), 50 mm is typical. We can calculate heat loss for your specific scenario.

Can this tank be used under vacuum or pressure?
The standard design is atmospheric. If you need vacuum or pressure rating, we must redesign the head shape, wall thickness, and weld details. Provide the required pressure/vacuum level so we can quote accordingly.

What cleaning method is recommended?
CIP (clean-in-place) with spray balls is common. We can include a spray ball connection and slope the bottom for complete drainage. For aggressive cleaning agents, ensure the material and gaskets are compatible.

How to Order the Right Tank

Before requesting a quote, prepare these details:

  • Stored liquid and its chemical composition (pH, chlorides, viscosity).
  • Required working capacity and total volume.
  • Operating temperature range and whether heating/cooling is needed.
  • Available space for tank dimensions (diameter and height).
  • Connection types and locations (inlet, outlet, vent, manhole).
  • Any pressure/vacuum requirements.
  • Surface finish preference.

Send these details to our engineers. We will confirm configuration, material, and insulation design, then provide a quote with drawing. We build each tank to your process, not the other way around.

Customer Review

We ordered a complete peanut butter processing line, and overall we’ve been very happy with it. The equipment arrived well packed and everything was installed and tested without major issues. The line runs smoothly, and the mixing and processing have been consistent. Our peanut butter comes out with a good texture, and the equipment is not difficult for our operators to use and clean. The support from the supplier was also helpful during setup. So far, it has been a good investment for our production.
