Electric Mixing Tanks for Production Batches
Available in 200 L, 500 L, and 1,000 L nominal capacity options, this mixing tank combines an electric agitator with a homogenizer for processes that need bulk circulation alongside finer dispersion. The right arrangement depends on the product: viscosity, solids content, batch volume, target texture, and the order in which ingredients are added all affect mixing performance. We confirm the working volume and internal geometry against the process rather than treating nominal capacity as usable batch volume.
Construction and configuration
Tank material and finish should match the product, cleaning method, and operating environment. Stainless steel grade, wetted-part requirements, weld treatment, and internal polishing level can be specified according to chemical compatibility and sanitation needs. Product-contact welds should be finished to suit cleaning and reduce material traps; seals and shaft arrangements must also be checked against temperature, pressure, and the ingredients being processed. These details are best settled before fabrication, especially for corrosive formulations or frequent product changeovers.
The agitator and homogenizer serve different purposes. An agitator supports circulation and helps move material through the vessel, while a homogenizer is selected when the process requires stronger shear or dispersion. Motor and gearbox sizing depend on viscosity, batch depth, speed range, and duty cycle. A high-shear head is not a substitute for bulk movement in a large or viscous batch, so some formulations require coordinated operation of both systems.
Heating is not specified as standard. If the process needs temperature control, the heating method, temperature range, heat-transfer area, insulation, and control accuracy must be defined from the product and production cycle. Utility availability and cleaning requirements also influence the design.
Typical technical scope
| Item | Configuration basis |
|---|---|
| Nominal capacities | 200 L, 500 L, or 1,000 L |
| Mixing system | Electric agitator with homogenizer |
| Material and finish | Specified to product and cleaning conditions |
| Drive, speed, heating, controls | Selected for the process; confirm during engineering |
These tanks may suit food, beverage, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, and chemical production, subject to material and hygienic design requirements. For example, a lotion batch may need dispersion and temperature control, while a beverage premix may prioritize circulation and ingredient incorporation.
Before requesting a quotation
Share batch size, product viscosity or formulation range, target temperature, mixing time, cleaning method, available power and utilities, and any required documentation. Also clarify whether the quoted capacity should represent working volume or vessel volume. With these details, our engineering team can recommend a practical tank size, drive arrangement, materials, and optional controls without guessing at process-critical specifications.
