We build these 100L, 200L, and 300L tanks for operators who need a dependable vessel for a range of non-pressurized liquids. The design is straightforward: a vertical cylinder, a dished or flat bottom depending on your drainage needs, and a top opening sized for cleaning and filling. We do not claim this is a universal tank, because it is not. It is a general-purpose atmospheric storage tank, and it works best when your process matches that profile.

Material and Manufacturing Details

Standard construction is SUS304, with SUS316L available when your product chemistry demands it. The difference matters. SUS304 is fine for water, oils, glues, and many food products. If you are storing chlorides, brines, or aggressive chemicals, step up to 316L. We match the steel grade to the stored medium, not to a sales chart.

Shell and bottom plates are rolled and welded with TIG. Weld seams are fully penetrated on the inside, then ground flush. Interior surface finish is typically 0.4µm Ra, which meets general food and cosmetic hygiene expectations. If you need a higher polish or electropolishing, we can do that, but it adds cost and is only necessary for certain pharmaceutical or high-purity applications. Exterior surfaces are brushed or matte, with a #4 finish.

Design and Configurations

All tanks are atmospheric, meaning they are not rated for internal pressure or full vacuum. If you need a pressure vessel, that is a different design with different head thicknesses and weld inspections, and we will quote it separately. For this series, standard fittings include a top manhole or flanged opening, an inlet connection, a bottom outlet with a ball or butterfly valve, and a vent. Legs are standard; a fork-liftable skid or stands can be added for floor-level discharge.

We can add a simple agitator bracket, a level indicator, or a heating jacket. Keep in mind that a jacket reduces the working volume slightly and adds weight. For viscous products like glue, a bottom outlet with a larger bore and a slightly sloped bottom helps with draining. For CIP (clean-in-place), we can install a spray ball, but the tank must have a properly sized vent and drain to make that effective.

Where It Fits

These tanks are used in food processing plants for storing edible oils or liquid ingredients, in cosmetics workshops for lotions and shampoos, in small water treatment setups for chemical dosing, and in workshops that handle adhesives. They are not a fit for high-temperature processes above 100°C, nor for storing flammable solvents that require explosion-proof fittings and grounding. Know your liquid, know your temperature, and choose accordingly.

FAQs

Q: How do I choose between 304 and 316L?
If the liquid contains chlorides, salts, or organic acids, go with 316L. For water, oils, and most neutral pH products, 304 is sufficient.

Q: Can I use this tank for mixing?
You can install a top-mounted agitator, but for high-shear mixing or heavy solids suspension, this design is not ideal. Tell us your process and we will advise.

Q: What is the maximum temperature?
Continuous operation up to 100°C is acceptable. Above that, gasket materials and thermal expansion need to be re-evaluated.

Q: Is this tank suitable for storing solvents?
Not without additional safety features like grounding, flame arrestors, and explosion-proof fittings. Consult us with your specific solvent.
