A vacuum emulsifying mixer combines batch blending, high-shear homogenization, and air removal in one vessel. It is used for products such as creams, lotions, hair shampoo, and liquid soap when a process needs controlled dispersion, a consistent texture, or reduced entrained air. The right arrangement depends on the formula: a thick cream and a pourable shampoo do not place the same load on the agitator or homogenizer.

We size the vessel and drive system around batch volume, viscosity across the process, powder addition, and required mixing time. An anchor or scraper agitator can move material along the vessel wall, while a high-shear head helps disperse oil, surfactants, thickeners, or other ingredients. Its location and power are selected for the product and batch geometry, not assumed from the product name alone. Vacuum level and charging method also affect powder wet-out and air removal.

Construction and configuration

Product-contact parts are commonly specified in 316L stainless steel when formulation chemistry or cleaning requirements call for it; 304 stainless steel may suit less demanding contact conditions. We confirm material compatibility against the actual ingredients. Welds, internal corners, and product-contact surfaces require suitable finishing for cleanability. Surface roughness targets should be agreed in the purchase specification rather than assumed. Seal materials must also match temperature, cleaning agents, and product chemistry.

Heating or cooling may use a vessel jacket with a selected utility, such as hot water or steam. Electric heating is another possible arrangement, subject to capacity and process control needs. Temperature sensor placement, ramp rate, and cooling time matter as much as the heat source. Motor, gearbox, and variable-speed drive selection depends on torque at startup and during the thickest process stage.
