What This Vessel Is Built For
A jacketed mixing tank is defined by the process it serves, not by a catalog page. We build these vessels in 304 or 316L stainless steel, with shell, jacket, and agitator sized to the batch you actually run. Wall thickness, nozzle layout, and jacket geometry are settled before the first plate is cut.
Jacket, Agitation, and Finish
The jacket wraps the lower shell and, when the duty calls for it, the bottom head. Steam, hot water, or thermal oil circulates through it for heating; the same jacket takes chilled water or glycol for cooling. Dimple or half-pipe construction depends on pressure and heat transfer demand. A internal coil can be added when the reaction needs faster response than a jacket alone delivers.
Agitation usually decides the design. Pitched-blade or propeller impellers handle low-viscosity liquids at moderate speed. Creams, slurries, and products carrying solids generally need anchor, ribbon, or combined impellers, sometimes with scrapers. Top-entry gear drives are standard; side-entry or bottom-entry mounting is available on larger tanks. Single or double mechanical seals keep the shaft penetration contained, while a sanitary lip seal suits atmospheric food and cosmetic batches.
Surface finish follows the product. Biotech and pharmaceutical vessels are polished to a specified Ra, with internal welds ground flush and crevices minimized. Food and cosmetic tanks often take a 2B or satin interior and a brushed exterior. Passivation after fabrication removes free iron so the passive layer can re-form.
Where These Tanks Run
Chemical reaction and dilution, pharmaceutical intermediates, sauces and syrups, cosmetic emulsions, and fermentation support vessels are common duties. Each one changes what matters: heat transfer rate, cleanability, seal selection, or solids handling.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can one tank handle both heating and cooling?
Yes, provided the jacket and circulation system are sized for both media and the temperature swing. Rapid cycling needs more attention to thermal stress at welds.
How do I choose between 304 and 316L?
Match the grade to the chemistry and concentration of the product and cleaning agents. Aggressive acids, chlorides, and many pharmaceutical duties point to 316L.
What determines mixing time?
Viscosity, solids content, impeller type, and speed together. Send us a sample description and we can suggest a configuration rather than guess.
Before You Request a Quote
Have these details ready: material to be processed and its chemistry, batch and working volume, operating and design temperature, pressure or vacuum condition, viscosity and solids content, heating or cooling needs, target mixing result, and any cleaning or compliance requirements. These answers determine the vessel structure and configuration.
Send your process data — material, batch capacity, operating temperature, pressure requirement, and agitation needs — and our engineers will recommend a configuration and quote accordingly.

Customer Review
We ordered a complete peanut butter processing line, and overall we’ve been very happy with it. The equipment arrived well packed and everything was installed and tested without major issues. The line runs smoothly, and the mixing and processing have been consistent. Our peanut butter comes out with a good texture, and the equipment is not difficult for our operators to use and clean. The support from the supplier was also helpful during setup. So far, it has been a good investment for our production.
