Product description

When you\’re running a coating production line, the reactor is the heart of your batch process. It has to handle solvent-based or water-based formulations, maintain consistent temperatures, and survive years of daily cleaning cycles. That\’s where our stainless steel reaction tank comes in—built for the kind of duty cycle coating plants actually see.

We fabricate the vessel from 304 or 316L stainless steel, depending on your chemistry. For coatings with chlorides or acidic components, 316L is the safer call. The inner tank wall is rolled from certified plate, welded with full penetration, and ground smooth on the product-contact side. Internal surface finish can be specified from 0.4 to 0.8 Ra, which makes cleanup faster and reduces the chance of material hang-up between batches.

The reactor is designed for batch processing under atmospheric, positive, or vacuum conditions—you tell us your process requirements and we\’ll size the shell and head accordingly. Heating and cooling are handled through a jacket or half-pipe coil, with options for steam, thermal oil, or electric heating. Precise temperature control matters in coating formulations, so we include a thermowell and can integrate with your existing PID loop.

Agitation is where a lot of reactors get undersized. For coating work, you often need both high-shear dispersion and low-speed turnover. We offer anchor, paddle, or turbine agitators, with variable speed drives if your process calls for it. The shaft seal is a mechanical seal or stuffing box, selected based on whether you\’re running solvents that need leak containment.

Here\’s what we\’ve learned from years of supplying these units: don\’t skip the details that affect maintenance. A hinged top head or quick-opening manway saves hours during cleaning. A bottom discharge valve with a flush design prevents dead zones. And if you\’re processing abrasive pigments, you\’ll want a hardened shaft and impeller option.

Our factory covers the full fabrication process—from plate cutting to welding, polishing, and hydro testing. That means we can adapt the nozzle layout, leg height, and jacket connections to fit your existing plant piping without unnecessary adapters.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can this reactor handle solvent-based coatings?
Yes, as long as the seal and gasket materials are compatible with the solvent. We\’ll need to know the solvent type and concentration to select the right elastomers.

Q: What about cleaning between batches?
We can add a CIP spray ball and slope the bottom for complete drainage. A flush bottom valve is recommended to avoid residue traps.

Q: How do I choose between 304 and 316L?
If you\’re working with chlorides, acids, or salt-containing pigments, go with 316L. For neutral water-based systems, 304 is usually fine and more economical.

Q: Can you match my existing piping connections?
Absolutely. Send us your nozzle schedule and we\’ll weld the correct flanges or tri-clamp fittings.

Before you request a quote, pull together a few numbers: batch volume, operating temperature, pressure, and the chemical composition of your feed. Also note the viscosity range and whether you need heating or cooling during the cycle. With those details, our engineers can specify the right wall thickness, agitator type, and jacket design—so you don\’t pay for capacity you won\’t use.

Send us your process parameters—material, batch size, temperature, pressure, and mixing requirements—and we\’ll get back with a configuration that fits your production line and budget.

Customer Review

We ordered a complete peanut butter processing line, and overall we’ve been very happy with it. The equipment arrived well packed and everything was installed and tested without major issues. The line runs smoothly, and the mixing and processing have been consistent. Our peanut butter comes out with a good texture, and the equipment is not difficult for our operators to use and clean. The support from the supplier was also helpful during setup. So far, it has been a good investment for our production.
