This customizable machine is intended for liquid batches that need both bulk circulation and high-shear dispersion. A homogenizer head can reduce agglomerates and improve consistency, while a separate or integrated agitator keeps material moving through the vessel. The required setup depends on viscosity, solids content, batch size, target droplet or particle size, and how the product changes during heating. A high-shear head alone may not circulate a large or viscous batch effectively.

Construction and Process Design

We select wetted materials around the chemical composition, cleaning method, and operating temperature. 304 stainless steel may suit compatible, non-corrosive products; 316L is often considered where chloride exposure or more demanding corrosion resistance is a concern. Final selection requires a review of the actual formulation. Welds, internal corners, and nozzle transitions should be designed for the required cleanability. Contact surfaces can be mechanically polished or finished to a specified roughness when the process requires it. Seal materials and shaft-seal arrangements also depend on chemical compatibility, temperature, pressure, and cleaning procedure.

Steam heating is commonly arranged through a vessel jacket or another engineered heat-transfer surface, rather than direct steam injection. Heating rate depends on batch volume, vessel geometry, steam conditions, and product viscosity. Temperature sensors and controls should be located and specified for the process; excessive wall temperature can cause fouling or product degradation. The motor, gearbox, and impeller are sized from viscosity, density, batch depth, and required circulation. Variable-speed control may help manage startup and mixing, but the suitable drive range must be confirmed with the process data.
