We configure the mixer around the actual batch, formulation, and target texture rather than assuming one agitator suits every product.
A typical arrangement combines a vessel agitator for bulk circulation with a high-shear homogenizer for dispersing ingredients and reducing visible agglomerates. Impeller style, shaft position, speed, and homogenizer location depend on viscosity, batch size, powder addition, and the required shear level. Excessive shear can introduce air or affect sensitive ingredients, so process trials or formulation details help determine the right setup.
Construction and configuration
Product-contact parts are commonly specified in 304 or 316L stainless steel. The choice depends on ingredients, cleaning chemicals, and corrosion requirements; 316L may be appropriate where chloride exposure or more demanding chemical compatibility is a concern. Welds and internal surfaces can be finished to an agreed standard. We review drainability, vessel geometry, seal materials, and access for cleaning during design. Surface finish requirements should be stated in the quote request rather than assumed.
Heating or cooling can be considered when the process needs temperature control. Options depend on the required temperature range, batch size, heat-transfer area, and available plant utilities. Motor and gearbox selection is likewise based on product viscosity, working volume, and duty cycle. A variable-speed drive may help manage start-up and process changes, but the drive range must suit the selected motor and mixing load.
